The Cowichan Valley Shrine Club No. 27 was formed as a result of the efforts of Nobles Elvin Waldie, Richard White and Alfred Jones.

 

The idea of a Duncan Shrine Club also caught on with the result that a Charter Meeting was held on November 28, 1964 at the Tzouhalem Hotel. 

 

To keep harmony amont the many Cowichan Valley Lodges it was agreed the Shrine Club should be known as the Cowichan Valley Shrine Club.

 

Potentate Raymond C. Bowell and several members of is Divan attended the Charter Meeting and installed the following as officers:
